My approach to tutoring is to bring students to a point of mastery in the learning process. When students are forced to move on with the calendar and to focus on testing, they are forced to move on to the next concept with one or two small things they don’t really grasp. Over time, these small things add up to cause confusion, and students aren’t truly learning how to learn.
I help students identify spots they need extra time with. Together, we develop a strategy that works for their personal learning style, allowing them to fully understand and learn concepts before moving on. The strategy shows students they are capable learners, and instills confidence.
I like to bring four elements to students for all lessons that they can carry with them throughout their lifetime learning journey:
